Our Philanthropy
C.A.S.A.
Kappa Alpha Theta is proud to be national supporters of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is an organization that is dedicated to providing a voice to abused, abandoned and neglected children. Through appointing CASA to such children, the organization strives to provide one-on-one stable adult relationships to the children, from which they can gain guidance and protection. G.F.A.K. (Go Fly a Kite)
We are proud to say that our annual philanthropy G.F.A.K. is the most attended philanthropic event of the UCI campus! Members of UCI Greek Community particpate in a day filled with a basketball tournament, a kite making contest, and a lip sync or dance competition. All proceeds go to C.A.S.A.
C.A.S.A. Gala
The ladies of the Epsilon Sigma Chapter are invited to help out at The Annual Celebration of Children Gala & Live Auction each year. We look forward to this exciting black tie gala featuring fine cuisine and dancing all to benefit CASA's mentoring and advocacy for abused children all year long.

Theta Valentines
Thetas made homemade Valentine's day cards to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the 2nd graders at Esqueda Elementary in Santa Ana. Although in an impoverished neighborhood, the students managed to rank in the top 10 most improved schools in Orange County on the California State Test. Thetas believe such an achievement should receive continual support as these children prove they have an inspiring future.
Atria Woodbridge Retirement Home
Thetas spent a Saturday afternoon at Atria Woodbridge Senior Living in Irvine. We played board games with the seniors, in addition to croquet, mini golf, poker, scrabble, and pictionary. Thetas value our senior citizens and are honored to have spent such an interactive and fun day with them. We were even lucky enough to learn that one of the residents we had been spending time with was a Theta Alumnae from Tucson, Arizona (Beta Delta Chapter).
Thetas enjoyed their time so much at Atria Woodbridge, we went back for a second time. This time, our girls taught an art therapy class to the senior residents. It was therapeutic and relaxing not just for the seniors, but for us Thetas as well!
Cinderellas For Life
Cinderellas for Life is put on through Working Wardroves, a non-profit organization in the OC. Thetas spent their day being personal shoppers for girls from low-income families, becoming new friends and mentors for them. We shifted through racks and racks of donated clothing to find the perfect prom dress, accessories and heels. With our help, the girls became extremely excited with their new outfits and for the prom.
